Parent Code of Conduct.

All coaches at Glenbuck Juniors do their best to make sure all children are having fun and enjoying their time playing football.

It is vitally important you keep in mind that children develop at different rates and some children thrive in situations that would freak others out, it’s completely normal.

We expect all adults to behave responsibly at all times.

At Glenbuck Juniors, football is about fun; it is about enjoying being part of the team or simply having a kick about at training. Glenbuck Juniors is not about the final score.

During matches our coaches will issue very few instructions, this helps players make their own decisions and learn from what goes well and what doesn’t. Do not coach players from the sidelines, you will increase the pressure on them and create confusion.

Enjoy watching, cheer the goals, applaud the great passages of play and praise the effort shown.

Below are a few simple Dos and Don’ts to keep in mind.

Do:

Applaud players from both sides.
Remind your child that football is about having fun.
Remain behind any respect line for the entire game.
Arrive on time.
Make sure your child has kit, shin pads and water.

Don't:

Coach the players at any time during the game.
Shout phrases like ‘get rid’ or ‘kick it out’
Use foul language especially when kids can hear you
Shout at or challenge any match official EVER.
Cross the respect barrier for any reason unless asked to by the referee or a coach.
Publicly (including on social media) criticise another player, coach or official.

Remember- the result does not matter. Football is about fun and enjoying being part of a team, it’s about trying new things and not being afraid that somebody is going to shout at you when it goes wrong.
